We are here every step of the way to support you.
If you’re serious about your business, be serious about promoting it!
The chances are someone, somewhere is already doing what you do. Whether it’s cleaning, garden or building services to training and consultancy, you need to stand out from the competition.
We help you do that!
Creating a logo may not seem a high priority, after all, your company has a name, right? But why give the impression that you are the new kid on the block? Start with a meaningful, eye-catching, full-colour logo – something that can be used throughout all your marketing activities including your website design, social media profiles and hard copy materials.
We can design a new logo (if you don’t have one already) as part of your overall new website design.
Naming and registering your company without looking to see if the web address (domain name) is available could be a big mistake. Even if the domain is available, is the Facebook Page or @Twitter account available? Starting a business needs thought and we are here to help all through the process.
How many times have you seen a small business use their full name for their website or email address? e.g. www.hydramarketingphotographyserviceslimited.co.uk, when perhaps www.hydra.photography would do? (that’s right, no .com or .co.uk or any suffix).
People need to remember your address – and it needs to fit on your business card, social profiles, your company vehicle etc. We will help you select the right domain(s) and the best social names that match. Don’t worry, we’ll take care of the domain registration and renewals (Yes, we did say renewals. You never actually own a domain name, you lease it).
Emailing with your Hotmail, Yahoo, Sky or Gmail account is fine for those who know you. But does it give the right first impression if it is printed on the side of your van or on your business card or even your website?
Once we purchase the best domain for your business we can set up your business emails. You can have any email address you like; email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com etc. We would always advise in creating personal email addresses too e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org, and not just for the obvious reasons, but also as some social media accounts (Facebook for example), won’t allow you to use generic email addresses.
We’ll provide you all the settings you need to access your new accounts and even hook them up to your favourite email system so you can continue to use Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail etc. Although you can create many email addresses, you can use some to auto forward to a preferred address. The email addresses you see in our footer, all go to the same email account – to me.
You may have spent a long time working on your business plan, perhaps even applying for a business start-up grant, funding applications for capital assets etc, asking people if your business is a good idea and gaining support from family and friends, but have you ask WHY you actually need a website?
A website is not just a tick in the box on your list of things to do. A good website will earn you money and save you money too, a bad one will cost you (and you will have no idea how much). People no longer expect high quality printed leaflets or brochures to understand your business, all they need is a website address. It’s what people do when they want to check you and your business out. A good website will drive people to complete your ‘contact us’ form or to pick up the phone and call you.
A good website puts you in front of prospects 24 hours a day, every day of the year. It allows you to showcase your business, products and services and to interact with your prospects. It’s an extremely cost-effective way of competing with long-established competitors. Search your local area for cleaning or DIY services and see the differences in the quality of sites listed. Would you ever go for the obvious home DIY style website? Or the cheap website built by a hobbyist?
A business card is often a first impression of you and your company. Sure, everything is digital these days; from sending email, attending online meetings, networking and advertising etc. but personal eye to eye contact is how great long lasting relationships are built. A good business card shows you are professional and it should do a lot more than just pass on your email address and phone number. Handing over a good quality printed business card is like handing over a bag full of all your leaflets, brochures, pictures etc as it should lead people to visit your website. It will only do that if it gives the impression you are serious about what you do. Always keep a business card handy, you never know when you’ll need it.
When budgets are tight, we would always recommend investing in your website. It’s much more cost-effective and a lot easier to track return on investment – how are people finding you, where are they from, which pages are popular and which need work. In addition to your business cards you may require some flyers to distribute at exhibitions, meetings and networking events – we can organise those for you too.
As your company grows, we will help you build your marketing collateral; from giveaway branded gifts, to pop-up banner stands, brochures, posters and more. You may even wish to start with some online brochures available for downloading from your website without ever having to print them yourself.
We are not in the business of ‘spitting out’ as many websites as we can. We are in the business of creating a marketing solution to fit your budget. A solution that benefits both of us. We can’t stress it enough – a bad website will put people off, no matter how good you, your products or your services are. You could have recently visited the website of the best plumber in town, only to leave due to the way it looked; the readability, the spelling mistakes, the squashed logo and poor graphics etc. We don’t just copy and paste your content. We read it, correct the tippos (typo’s) and we may even re-word it for better Search Engine Optimisation results, and we’ll lay it out in a clean and stylish way.
If all you want to do right now is secure a name for your website (domain name), we are here to help you do that. If you want to start small and add content and functions to your site at a later date, we’ll work with you as your company grows.
Once you’re a customer of Hydra, we are always here to bounce ideas around, help with formatting a document or converting it to a specific format etc. If you have new content for your website, email it over and we’ll have it checked and uploaded in no time.
